Sandi Johnston -
Interim Camp Director
Sandi
joined the camp at the perfect time last fall. Her
experience in organizing and managing the operational
details of the camp made her the ideal candidate to be
promoted to the position of Interim Camp Director. Sandi is from
Scottsdale, AZ where she was employed as an Itinerant
Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Phoenix
Metro Public School Districts. Sandi’s preparatory work
was at the University of Minnesota where she obtained a
B.A. Degree in Deaf Education/Deaf Studies. Sandi’s
additional studies include an American Sign Language
Studies Certificate, with an emphasis in Sign Language
Interpreting, from the St. Paul Technical College in
Minnesota. While living in Minnesota, Sandi was very
involved in many social gatherings and sports activities
in support of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and
culture. Sandi brings an amazing energy and enthusiasm
to Aspen Camp and we are excited to have her lead our
team.

Erin
Slone - Program Director
Erin has a true passion for teaching children and being
in the outdoors. She loves water sports and gardening in
her free time. Although she is so professionally driven,
we don’t know when she has time to enjoy those hobbies.
She is devoted to getting her Master in Special
Education Deaf and Hard of Hearing while working full
time at BOCES as the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
serving children from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Besides
being a lifetime camper moving up through the ranks to
Assistant Director at Camp Wesley Woods, Erin has a
Bachelor in Deaf Studies, a Minor in American Sign
Language, and is a Certified Educational Interpreter. We
are fortunate to have Erin as part of the team!
Clint Woosley -
Program Coordinator
Clint
hails from Maryland, although he has been living in the
Roaring Fork Valley for the past three years. A former
summer staff and volunteer at the camp, he brings with
him six years of working with deaf and hard of hearing
children in public schools, as well as a lifetime of
camping experience. He also draws on his experience as a
producer and writer of children’s television shows as
well as numerous jobs ranging from cooking to
residential counseling for disabled adults. A passionate
believer in the wilderness experience, he looks forward
to introducing the children at camp to the wondrous
beauty in the mountains of Colorado.
Elizabeth Feary –
Special Projects
Elizabeth has an eclectic
background which includes such claims to fame as guest
speaking at her Thunderbird MBA commencement alongside
Former CR President and world-renowned philosopher
Vaclav Havel in Prague. She has lived in Paris and
Berlin besides the US, but has found a home in Aspen
Valley. After a decade in business development for
startups and small businesses, Elizabeth has shifted her
skills to match her interests in philanthropy. She
became involved with the Deaf community when performing
the Vagina Monologues alongside some very talented deaf
actresses. Via nonprofit consulting, she has contracted
with the camp on various projects not the least of which
was the design and launch of this new website. (This is
only phase one, so stay tuned!) Elizabeth is also
focused on developing new revenue generation sources,
establishing energy conservation tactics and cost
controls. Her energy and determination are ceaseless as
demonstrated by her commitment to the camp as much as to
the outdoors. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and
continues to travel for cultural exchanges and to climb
big mountains.
